Proposed Renaming of Oxford Road #5
On May 1, 2009 the County of Oxford transferred Oxford Road 5, south of Oxford Road 8
to the jurisdiction of the Township of East Zorra-Tavistock.
The Council of the Township of East Zorra-Tavistock desires to change the road
name to reflect the change in jurisdiction over the road. The new name selected
corresponds with the naming pattern in the Township of East Zorra-Tavistock and
does not affect the number assigned to your property.
The NEW NAME proposed is 17th LINE instead of OXFORD ROAD 5
The Township will notify Bell 9-1-1 to advise of the road name change after
the By-law is enacted (scheduled for December 16, 2009) to ensure that the
correct civic address will show up at dispatch in the event of an emergency.
Personal items can be changed as they come due and the mailing address will
continue as a RURAL ROUTE # as this is a postal matter.
If you have any concerns with the name change proposal please contact
the Township Office no later that THURSDAY DECEMBER 10, 2009.
